Ted Fort is a Teaching Professional with the Louis Brown Golf Academy at
Legacy Golf Links and was chosen as the 1996 "Assistant of the Year" for the Georgia Section PGA. Ted has worked with participants on the Senior PGA Tour, LPGA tour, Nike Tour, and with the Champions of two State Opens.
There are two things that I find in almost all golfers that haven't taken lessons:
1. Incorrect ball position
2. Poor Posture
Here is an example of poor ball position:
This is the proper ball position for a driver:
The ball should be placed inside the left foot and on the outside of the left shoulder. Your spine should be slightly tilted away from the target.
Here is an example of poor posture:
This is the proper posture to make an athletic swing:
In order to achieve good posture, your back has to remain somewhat straight when you bend forward to the ball. If your chin is placed on your chest, your upper back will be arched and your shoulders will be unable to turn.
